What I Believe
I believe that education is the most valuable resource for positive change in the world. I strive to empower students of all backgrounds to cultivate empathy, explore their passions, and celebrate their ability to achieve great things. As an educator, I believe that it is my job to create and facilitate an inclusive environment where all students can realize that their unique perception of the world is valuable. All students inherently want to learn and succeed. I believe that maintaining high expectations and high levels of support in a collaborative and inclusive classroom community is essential for student success.
I believe it is essential for students to build upon their own innate sense of curiosity as they explore others' perspectives and gain the courage to authentically share their own. I believe that learning should be student-centered and student-driven. I believe in creating an environment where students can explore and construct their own multifaceted understanding of the world. I believe that equity, empathy, community, and a growth mindset are essential in creating an engaged community of learners. |
